Kai Gilmour-Gath

Peripheral Regions Intelligence Analyst

Kai Gilmour-Gath is an Intelligence Analyst at Global Weekly with a background in military reconnaissance, operational intelligence, and private security contracting. Drawing on over a decade of experience in high-pressure environments, he brings sharp analytical insight informed by real-world experience to the monitoring of conflict zones and peripheral geopolitical developments.
Kai served for eight years in the British Army as a Reconnaissance and Intelligence Specialist, operating across East Africa, Eastern Europe, North America, and Scandinavia. In 2024, he deployed to the Ukrainian frontline as a Reconnaissance and Intelligence Specialist in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, conducting battlefield intelligence collection and mission planning under some of the most kinetic conditions of the war.
He is a certified PRINCE2 Project Manager and holds multiple qualifications in emergency care, intelligence operations, and private security. His operational background is further supported by academic work as he currently pursues a BA (Hons) in International Security Studies at the University of Nottingham.
Kai is particularly interested in the fields of Security Policy, Counterterrorism, and War Journalism, where he aims to combine his experience in both the field and the analytical space to influence meaningful understanding and decision-making in conflict environments.
