Peter Mumford

International Affairs Analyst

Peter has an undergraduate and a Master's degree in Classics from the University of Cambridge. His interest in global current affairs and geopolitics led him to focus his research on international relations in the ancient world, exploring the underlying themes of identity, 'otherness' and xenophobia that remain all too relevant in the world of today. He is particularly interested in the role of history in the construction of cultural identity and how this influences international affairs.

Peter currently works for a non-profit organisation supporting displaced people from Ukraine and Afghanistan. He is also involved in freelance journalism and in policy research at a global affairs policy institute. He is looking forward to contributing to Global Weekly and writing about topics of both international and personal significance.
